Diving in Depth was formed by Kieran to offer a high standard of diving instruction and dive travel.
Our focus is on delivering Scuba instruction to people that share our enthusiasm for all things below the surface, no matter what the level of training. We hope to share our passion for diving and believe that by providing training that we would be happy to receive ourselves, our divers will be able to go out and experience the diving that we enjoy!
Once your training course has been completed it’s important to go diving, after all that’s why we train [not all our trips are training trips, we like to just dive too!]. Please keep an eye on the 'coming up' page for what is coming up and if you don't see anything that works for you please

About your instructor
Kieran Hatton
Kieran began diving in 1995 with the Coventry branch of the British Sub Aqua Club. Kieran continued diving with his local branch until 2003 when the desire to travel and the need to work professionally led him transfer to the PADI system.
In the late 1990’s Kieran developed an interest in technical diving and began his technical training with the IANTD Advanced Nitrox qualification in 1998.
Since then diving has taken Kieran all over the UK from Plymouth to Scapa stopping off in the likes of Weymouth, Anglesea, the Sound of Mull and the Farne Islands along the way, with a few dives in fresh water as well of course!
An interest in overseas travel has given Kieran the opportunity to dive around the globe in places such as France, Egypt, India, Australia, Mexico and the list continues to grow.
Kieran’s passion at home in the UK is wreck diving but recent cave diving trips to Mexico have sparked a new interest.
2009 saw us make the move from Orkney down to Plymouth on the South Coast, complete a crossover to PSAI which enabled me to join Sean Mctierney and Jim Kellet on a job to deliver Tech Training to the Greek Coastguard. As well as getting my Scapa History project off the ground.
2010 was interesting year which saw Kieran, organise 11 days of diving [rec and tech] out of Plymouth, run 2 Scapa History Weeks and a gas week out of Fraserburgh; appear on the BBC show 'Country Tracks' [snorkelling on the Louis Shied with Jodie Kidd], run trimix training in Plymouth and Scapa, be involved with the Ullswater project for the BBC show 'Spotlight Devon' as well as much more.
What next? Kieran hopes to explore more wrecks in the UK with visits to Scapa Flow, Fraserburgh and Northern Ireland planned for this season, as well of course as some local diving in Plymouth. We are even looking into 2012 with a trip to Truk Lagoonn catering for every kind of diver including CCR divers. This year must be the year to make it to the French caves and a trip back to Mexico is always on the agenda.
